Capuchin Monkey: One of the Smartest Monkeys in the World

The capuchin monkey is a native Amazonian animal that stands out for its intelligence. One of its most impressive skills is the ability to break open fruits to consume the juice inside or smash them against rocks to remove the shell and eat the pulp. They can also live near water and feed on crabs, using stones to crack open the hard shells and reach the meat inside.

These monkeys live in groups of up to 30 individuals, following a hierarchical order. There is constant competition among males for leadership, as capuchin troops are polygamous—meaning the dominant male has priority in mating with the largest number of females.

Their tails play a crucial role in their daily activities, as they use them for movement. They wrap their tails around tree branches to swing and travel from one place to another with ease.

During excursions on the Untamed Amazon, you may encounter various species of Amazonian wildlife. A truly unforgettable experience.
